Neptune 7 23 2007
Neptune, taken on 7/23/2007 with the ST-402 camera on the CN-212 with 2x barlow.
The Luminance is a composite of 100 1 second exposures stacked in registax. The RGB images were too faint to stack in registax, so they are each composites of 6 images manually.
The LRGB images were combined in photoshop. Photoshop was used to flatten the background noise and adjust the color and curves, and registax was used for wavelets. The image is crunched vertically a few pixels to correct for seeing errors that were amplified by taking exposures of more than a second at such a high scale.
